This book has me confused. I enjoyed the story. I loved the characters. The supporting cast were even amazing but this story just didn’t hook me right from the start. So why now I’ve finished the book am I disappointed?

This is certainly one of those slow building stories that creeps up on you and without realising it, you’ve been captured by the story and the lives of Alex and Sutton.

Review: Strip Teaser

Wow, I loved this book and devoured it in one sitting!!!! I love the way Ava Manello writes; she has a natural talent as a writer and storyteller.

This book tells the story of a group of male strippers and, more importantly, who they are behind the scenes. Alex is not your typical stripper. He's not bulky but simply toned and he doesn't lust after the fans, unlike his rather more promiscuous co-performers. Alex is the strong, silent member of the group and preferring his own company is wrongly presumed to be gay, much to Sally's disappointment.

The guys aren't what I expected. Well, mostly. Alex and Tiny are the total opposite of who and what I thought they'd be. The other four are slightly more stereotypical with their fake tans and larger than life egos, yet most of the time they're pleasant and polite.

Sally is a journalist who, reluctantly, agrees to spend 8 weeks touring with the group to tell their story but upon meeting the men she soon realises that they are so different to their performing personas. It's not long before Sally falls for Alex's charms but assuming that he is gay doesn't act on her lustful thoughts.

He lays down flat to the stage, humping up and down suggestively with his groin. I can't help but wonder how that would feel if he was in bed with me.

I really enjoyed that this story is set in the UK and for once speaks my language! Ava has written a delightful love story and I really enjoyed the "will they, won't they" theme which ran throughout. The characters were lovable rogues and you can't help but become attached to each one especially when they protect Sally like big brothers.

Strippers are not my thing but I would pay good money to witness this group of hearthrobs in the "flesh"!!!

Sugar on the Edge (Last Call, #3)Sugar on the Edge by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story ticked all of my boxes, I loved it!!!

I've enjoyed the first two Last Call books a lot but this, this well, what can I say... had an edginess and an increased hotness to it thanks to Gavin. Yes, he starts out as an asshole but he kinda grows on you and when you get to understand him a little more you can see why he is the way he is.

We've met Savannah and her past before but she's always come across as the odd one out in this group of friends, no doubt deliberately written that way. However, the shy and retiring Savannah is no more in this story thanks to Gavin aka Filth!
