This story ticked all of my boxes, I loved it!!!
I've enjoyed the first two Last Call books a lot but this, this well, what can I say... had an edginess and an increased hotness to it thanks to Gavin. Yes, he starts out as an asshole but he kinda grows on you and when you get to understand him a little more you can see why he is the way he is.
We've met Savannah and her past before but she's always come across as the odd one out in this group of friends, no doubt deliberately written that way. However, the shy and retiring Savannah is no more in this story thanks to Gavin aka Filth!
Gavin has moved to the US from England to finish writing a book but the last thing he wants is people around him but realising that he needs help around the house he resorts to employing Savannah. Little does Gavin expect this quiet and unassuming person to get under his skin but she does and he quickly starts pressing her buttons trying to see if she really is the anti-heroine that he portrays her as.
It's not long though before the two can't get enough of one another and despite the recent start to their affair, Gavin and Savannah quickly realise they are falling for each other.
Her smile calms, he soft touch unmans. Her laugh fortifies, and her brazen look overwhelms me. I'm falling in deep with her, and rather than trying to claw my way out, I find myself wanting to tie anchors to her feet so I can submerge in her just a little further.
After some shocking news though, Gavin and Savannah's relationship is challenged and each wonder if there will be a way back through to the happiness they had previously.
Sawyer's writing style definitely took on a new found rawness to it in this book and what starts out as a hot and interesting read has now become, well, a scorchingly hot read.
This is one book that I will definitely read again!
