5 Star Review: Covering Ollie (Police and Fire: Operation Alpha & On Call series #2) by Freya Barker

Covering Ollie by Freya Barker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was such a great story by Freya Barker. It had the perfect blend of romance and suspense to keep me hooked right the way through the book. The characters were endearing but, as expected, not without emotional baggage which made the story even more thought-provoking. For me, I think this was one of Freya’s best stories to date.

Teaser Reveal: Debase by Rachel Van Dyken

From #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Rachel Van Dyken...

With blood on my hands, I held her.

With death in my soul, I took from her.

With the devil in my heart, I coveted her.

There're many definitions of Hell.

My list was exhaustive, my definitions tragic.

Tonight I was adding something new to the very top.
Girl number six thirty-two.
She arrived on my birthday, the same day, every year, I play Russian Roulette and pull the trigger.
She was my omen.
My end game.
She made it personal.
And for the first time in my life, I gave in.
A virgin mob boss with no soul.
My name is Andrei Petrov.
They call me the devil.
All I want is for the pain to end.
All she wants is for me to share it.
I am the last remaining heir to a dynasty that should burn in Hell.
And my last wish remains for it to die with me.

**All books in the Eagle Elite Series are Standalones about different couples. This book is technically book one in a brand new Russian/Italian mafia series that takes place in the Eagle Elite world... this is Andrei Petrov's story**

5 Star Review: Things We Never Said (Hart's Boardwalk #3) by Samantha Young

Things We Never Said by Samantha Young

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another instalment in the Hart’s Boardwalk series and another duo of characters to love/hate and everything in between. Michael and Dahlia's story is emotive and thought-provoking and yet thoroughly refreshing and enticing but boy, did this story challenge my perception of right and wrong.

I was all over the place trying to decide who was to blame for Dahlia and Michael's situation. I wanted to blame Michael, then I wanted to blame Dahlia, then I wanted to blame Dillon, then I wondered if the author was to blame, and, oh my head is spinning again…..

They say revenge is a dish best served cold.
I’d had four years to stew on what Daria Followhill did to me, and now my heart is completely iced.
I took her first kiss.
She took the only thing I loved.
I was poor.
She was rich.
The good thing about circumstances? They can change. Fast.
Now, I’m her parents’ latest shiny project.
Her housemate. Her tormentor. The captain of the rival football team she hates so much.
Yeah, baby girl, say it—I’m your foster brother.
There’s a price to pay for ruining the only good thing in my life, and she’s about to shell out some serious tears.
Daria Followhill thinks she is THE queen. I’m about to prove to her that she’s nothing but a spoiled princess.

Everyone loves a good-old, unapologetic punk.
But being a bitch? Oh, you get slammed for every snarky comment, cynical eye roll, and foot you put in your adversaries’ way.
The thing about stiletto heels is that they make a hell of a dent when you walk all over the people who try to hurt you.
In Penn Scully’s case, I pierced his heart until he bled out, then left it in a trash can on a bright summer day.
Four years ago, he asked me to save all of my firsts for him.
Now he lives across the hall, and there’s nothing I want more than to be his last everything.
His parting words when he gave me his heart were that nothing in this world is free.

Now? Now he is making me pay.

I Spy The Boy Next Door by Samantha Armstrong
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Don’t you love it when you’re casually scrolling through Netgalley, not really looking for anything (because you already have enough books to read and review) when a plain but elegant and relatively unassuming book cover catches your attention? That book then does on to deliver a YA story that leaves you speechless. That’s exactly what happened to me when I stumbled across I Spy The Boy Next Door by Samantha Armstrong.

Coming soon from Samantha Young...
