A Change of View (Northern Lights, #2)A Change of View by Freya Barker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Freya Baker’s stories are heartwarming and enchanting.

This was another solidly written story from Freya. The characters were endearing and *yes* my age for a change. There are so few stories written involving mature (urgh, is that what people in their 40's are these days) characters and this is what makes me love Freya’s writing. Her books are both believable and realistic and not in any way artificially enhanced.

Yet more riddles!

Another enjoyable instalment in this fascinating series. Despite having a great storyline, book 1 left me wanting more from this story but book 2 certainly delivered.

The start of this book seemed a little at odds with the overall theme of the book. With Madison and Tatum on the run from the Kings, they head off to the other side of the world to hide from Bishop et al. Despite thinking they were safe from their clutches, they soon find that Bishop has known where they were the whole time and soon they are returned to the US and to yet more uncertainty where her life is concerned. Once back on US soil, the story settles down into its usual complicated storyline with oodles of intrigue and mystery.

With the book revealing, even more, news about her life, Madison finds herself falling further into the King's clutches and more and more into the role of the Silver Swan. When seeking answers she finds more questions and also even more shocking revelations. The strength of this book is in its storyline, especially its many dimensions. Despite really enjoying the story, it did leave me a little confused so it’s definitely a book to read when you fresh and not tired after a long day at work!
