The Singer The Singer by Elizabeth Hunter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After loving the first book in the Irin Chronicles series, I had high hopes for this book but sadly, for me, they did not materialise. The book, although still continuing the story of Malachi and and Ava just didn't capture my imagination as much as The Scribe.

I felt The Singer was just too complex at times that it made it almost boring. There were just too many characters coming thick and fast in this book which made reading it, for me personally, slightly exhausting.

The story continues with Ava's trying to recover from Malachi's apparent death and she flees with Damian to find other Irina's to help her to understand her new found magic and to come to terms with her loss.

The scribes continue to try to find out where Ava came from and why Volund is so hell bent on capturing her and why Jaron trying to protect her.

For me, the last 30% was the most enjoyable part to this book but sadly it didn't make me want to continue with this series.
