Ruin (Ruin, #1)Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I did it, I survived Ruin but not before checking if there was a HEA though. Phew, this was one emotional read. Yes, there was pain but there was also beauty both through words and actions as Wes and his little lamb try to survive the shadows that hang over them.

I loved Gabe probably the most in this story so I can't wait to start Toxic to get to his story.

This is a really well written and thought out book. At times it was perhaps too wordy but that may be attractive to other readers.

It was a bit of a strange story though and a little far fetched but hey, this is book-land and anything goes, right?!

I must admit, stories about (view spoiler) are not really enjoyable to me as I find them quite emotional and gut-wrenching but this didn't over-shine the story and I was able to fully appreciate the book despite it's heavy subject matter.
